Report for Cumnock P3 / P4 Team
Ayr (P4) 5 Cumnock 6
This was a cracker of a game with great play from both teams. Ayr took an early lead before Cumnock woke up at half time. In the second half Cumnock fought back well with some fierce tackling and great running and passing and eventually ran out deserved winners. Scores from Rob, Adam, Adam and Owen (3).
GHA (P4) 7 Cumnock 2
Cumnock never really got going against this much larger, well drilled team. The standard of rugby from GHA was very high but Cumnock rose well to the challenge and some determined tackling kept the score down. Tries came from Adam (2).
Ayr (P3) 5 Cumnock 3
This was a real ding-dong game with lots of action at both ends of the pitch. Scores were traded evenly throughout the first half but Ayr just pulled away towards the end of the second half. Tries were scored by Corry (2) and Adam.
The coaches were extremely pleased with the way that the boys played, particularly as the day went on. If only the players would realise that the shortest way to the try line is to run in a straight line!
