British and Irish Lions lock Nathan Hines is out of contention for the second Test against South Africa after receiving a one-week suspension.
Following a citing, the Scot was found guilty of a dangerous tackle on Wilhelm Steenkamp during Tuesday's 13-13 draw with the Emerging Springboks.
Hines does, however, have 24 hours to lodge an appeal against the ban.
The Perpignan star was not selected for last Saturday's first Test in Durban, where South Africa won 26-21.
He had been an outside candidate to make the squad for this weekend's clash in Pretoria.
The towering lock, capped 58 times for Scotland, made his challenge on Steenkamp, who was unhurt, nine minutes into the second half of a bruising encounter in Cape Town.
The incident went unpunished by referee Alain Rolland but the match citing commissioner made a complaint and judicial officer Alan Hudson made the ruling on a ban.
Hines is the first Lions player to face disciplinary action, eight games into the 10-match tour.
He was one of only two Scots to make the original travelling party, with the other, prop Euan Murray, having his tour ended by an ankle injury.
Hooker Ross Ford and scrum-half Mike Blair were drafted in as injury replacements but are not likely to be in contention for a Test place.
